City ID
Policy research: options for a City ID in Amsterdam
(policy) Research
Moderation
The City ID is a document handed out by the municipality of the city for all citizens in the city regardless of someone’s migration status. It can be used to access public facilities provided by the municipality or for identification on the street to increase someone's safety.
In assignment for GroenLinks I conducted a policy research into the topic of a City ID. I compared various forms of City ID's implemented in different cities in the world for example, New York, San Francisco and Zurich. I used various methods, interviews with key players and a deep literary study on the policy possibilities. From this study I drafted a policy advice for GroenLinks in the municipality of Amsterdam which was proposed to the council.
